PURPOSE:To obtain a lightweight thin electrostatic recording head of high quality easy to produce with can achieve the reduction of driver cost by forming a plurality of discharge electrodes and auxiliary electrodes coated with a dielectric layer to a planar dielectric substrate. CONSTITUTION:Each of auxiliary electrodes 6 is formed to a dielectric substrate 4 and coated with a first dielectric layer 51 and the lead terminal 7 formed on the dielectric layer 51 is coated with a second dielectric layer 52 so as to leave the through-hole part for connecting each of discharge electrodes 1. A part where coating is unnecessary such as a lead taking-out part is exposed. Each of discharge electrodes 1 is formed to the through-hole part to face to the dielectric layer 3a of electrostatic recording paper. In this case, the charge to the control electrode or dielectric layer forming a pair along with each discharge electrode 1 is formed at a separate place.
