Method for joining a supported wooden beam (4) onto a supporting beam (3), the supporting beam having at least one substantially vertical plane face (5), and the supported beam having a plane end (6) cut at an angle, fixed to the said plane face (5) of the supporting beam and parallel to the said plane face (5) of the supporting beam and with the aid of a band (stirrup) (10) produced of sheet metal pierced with holes (19) and including: - a substantially vertical plane face which is located between the said substantially vertical plane face (5) of the supporting beam and the plane end (6) of the supported beam, - a lower support part which is folded back substantially at right angles under the supported beam (4), the said lower support part including a retaining end (13) which is folded back on one side (30) of the supported beam opposite the supporting beam (3), - two upper flanges (14, 15) folded back respectively above the supported beam (4) and the supporting beam (3). <IMAGE>
