<p>PURPOSE:To detect a stack jam even in the case of an intermittent printing operation. CONSTITUTION:A continuous sheet is fed to an inlet of a stacker and a jam sensor arm 2 is pressed by the sheet. A clock signal is output from a clock jam sensor 3, and a CPU 4 starts a jam detecting operation. If a level of the signal from the sensor 3 before printing is stopped is 'high', the time of high level of the clock signal before stoppage of printing is integrated and held if the level of the clock signal of restarting the printing is 'high'. Since the clock signal has 'high' level even after restart of printing, duration of high level is integrated starting from the generation of the clock signal prior to initially stoppage of printing, and when it becomes 5sec, the CPU 4 judges it as a stack jam.</p> |
