Cylinder head gasket with aluminium core for marine engines and marine engine equipped with such a gasket

A cylinder head gasket for use in a marine engine designed to be cooled by the water in which it is operating, the engine including a cylinder head made of a non-ferrous alloy and an engine block made of a non-ferrous alloy, the engine block and cylinder head both, preferably, being made of aluminium alloy. The gasket comprises a metal sheet forming a core (52), the core including upper (54) and lower (56) surfaces, layers (58, 60) of external material located fixedly on the said upper (54) and lower (56) surfaces, and in which the electrolytic solution potential of the metallic sheet is substantially equal to the respective electrolytic solution potentials of the engine block and of the cylinder head.
