PURPOSE:To obtain the phosphate of a rare earth element having <=200Angstrom average particle diameter of primary particles almost free from secondary aggregation and excellent dispersibility and flowability. CONSTITUTION:One or more among an alcoholic soln. contg. higher fatty acid, an aq. emulsion contg. higher fatty acid and a soln. of higher fatty acid salts are added to a slurry contg. the phosphate of a rare earth element, they are mixed and the water is separated. The phosphate is then dried and fired to produce the phosphate of the rare earth element having the above-mentioned properties. |
