PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer recording medium having a back layer with excellent heat resistance, slip properties and anti-blocking properties, excellent dust resistance of the thermal head and a good life for a thermal head by providing a back layer consisting of a heat-resistant resin and an abrasive material on the rear face of a supporting body. CONSTITUTION:In a heat transfer recording medium wherein a heat transfer ink layer is provided on the surface of the supporting body and a back layer is provided on the rear face of the supporting body, the back layer contains a heat-resistant resin (e.g. an acryl-silicone resin) and an abrasive material (e.g. boron nitride) and the content of the abrasive material is 0.5-6wt.% based on the amt. of adhesion (in terms of the solid content) of the back layer. As the result, it is possible to obtain a heat transfer recording medium having a back layer with excellent heat resistance, slip properties and anti-blocking properties, excellent dust resistance of the thermal head and good service life for a thermal head. |
