A brickwork beam comprises a number of bricks arranged in a row one after another and joined to one another by means of a reinforcement 7 which is embedded in a body 6 made of hardened casting mass laid in a groove which passes through all the bricks and is located in the lower part of the beam, the beam having an upper side 4 intended to be joined to masonry to be arranged on top of the beam and a lower side 3 intended to be left visible in the brickwork. The bricks consist of whole bricks 2 of the type which has a plurality of continuous holes which extend between said upper side and said lower side and, at least in their upper portions which open into said upper side, are free of casting mass. <IMAGE>
