PURPOSE:To prevent ink falling from a nozzle surface by gravity staining the inside of an ink jet recording apparatus and from causing a defective recording operation through the stain by causing an ink guide member coming into contact with the lower part of an ink jet head and an ink absorbent to absorb unnecessary ink around a nozzle. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet recording apparatus for conducting ink jet recording on a recording medium arranged in the manner of facing a nozzle 3 when an ink jet head 2 for discharging ink drops from the nozzle 3 and a carriage 1 mounting the ink jet head 2 move, an ink guide member 4 coming into contact with the lower part of the ink jet head 2 and an ink absorbent 5 connected with the ink guide member 4 are arranged between the ink jet head 2 and carriage 1 and the ink absorbent 5 is covered with the ink jet head 2. |
