PURPOSE:To improve an optical recording medium in signal characteristics, such as jitter, by successively laminating a recording layer containing a substd. phthalocyanine dye soluble in a nonpolar solvent and a residual nonpolar solvent in the amount of 5wt.% or less, a reflection layer, and a protection layer on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A substd. phthalocyanine dye soluble in a nonpolar solvent is dissolved in a nonpolar solvent, such as pentane or n-hexane, whereby coating liquid for a recording layer is prepared. This recording layer coating liquid is applied to a substrate made of a high-molecular material or the like and dried to form a recording layer containing a residual nonpolar solvent in the amount of 5wt.% or less. Next, on the recording layer, a metallic film of Au, Ag, Al, or the like is formed by vacuum metallizing, sputtering, or the like to laminate a reflection layer. Furthermore, on the reflection layer, a protection layer made of a high-molecular material, such as polycarbonate, is laminated. In this manner, an optical recording medium is obtained. As the substd. phthalocyanine dye soluble in a nonpolar solvent, alkyl-substd. phthalocyanine, alkoxy-substd. phthalocyanine are preferably exemplified. |
