A color film projector comprises a light source, a lens, a solid image pickup device and a projected image signal proecssor. A negative film is interposed between the light source and the lens, and then the lens focuses the image signal of the film, and the solid image pickup device transforms the image signal into a projected image signal. Finally the projected image signal processor changes the projected image signal into a positive projected image signal by adjusting gain and changing polarity. This projector enables the user to see the original image without printing.
