PURPOSE:To obtain the yarn or woven fabric coated with ultrafine particles useful as a reinforcing material for reinforced resins or a catalyst having high contact efficiency, having high integrity with synthetic resins or adhesives by coating the surface of yarn or woven fabric with ultrafine particles of an inorganic material, a metallic hydrocarbon or an element of simple substance. CONSTITUTION:An air flow of ultrafine particles having 0.005-17mum average particle diameter is formed from an inorganic material, a metallic material or an element of simple substance such as an oxide, e.g. alumina or silica, a nitride, e.g. silicon nitride or boron nitride or a simple substance of a metal, e.g. aluminum, nickel, cobalt, copper or iron by CVD method PVD method such as RF plasma method. Yarn or woven fabric comprising an organic material such as polyester or nylon, an inorganic material such as glass, silicon carbide or rock wool or a metal material such as aluminum, titanium or copper is introduced into the air flow of the ultrafine particles to coat the surface of yarn or fabric with the ultrafine particles. |
