PURPOSE:To retain the discharge stability of ink and to protect a recording head from an external mechanical shock by mounting polyolefine resin or a seal member with film-like seal part of this resin on the surface of a tank provided with ink discharge ports and air communicating ports. CONSTITUTION:When the base material 3 side of a seal member 1 is pressed by a heating press plate 7 and operated so that a film-like seal part 2 in the seal member 1 is contact-bonded onto the ink discharge port surface 6 of a recording head 4, the film-like seal part 2 in the seal member 1 is softened or melted and bonded to the ink discharge port surface while having stickiness. After that, when the press plate 7 pressed onto the seal member 1 is separated, the sticky film-like seal part 2 is cooled and solidified so that the seal member 1 can be stuck onto the ink discharge port surface 6. The preferred material of this seal part 2 is polyolefine resin or copolymer polyolefine resin or material mainly composed of these resins. |
