PURPOSE:To surely prevent water from entering from the outside of a vehicle, by providing a connecting part between a base secured by screws to an opening in a vehicle body, and the outboard side of a seal lip, and by providing a locking part on the inboard side thereof. CONSTITUTION:When a weather strip is attached to an opening 1 in a vehicle body, a seal lip 4 is opened about a connecting part 9 as a fulcrum as shown by the two-dot chain line in the figure, and in this condition, screws 10 are inserted and fastened into through-holes 11 in a core 5, and accordingly, the weather strip 1 is fastened to the opening 1. Thereafter, the seal lip 4 is closed about the connecting part 9, and in this condition, locking parts 17, 20 of the seal lip 4 and a base 2 are fitted. After the weather strip 17 is attached as mentioned above, the locking parts 17, 20 are positioned on the inboard side while no gap or the like is present on the outboard side, and accordingly, even though water is strongly and externally jetted onto the weather strip during car washing or the like, no water enters the inside of the strip. |
