PURPOSE: To form a looper thread feed device of an eyelet buttonhole sewing machine so as to completely feed a cut-off looper thread end part without performing additional post-work to a throat plate. CONSTITUTION: A suction device 36 is provided between the throat plate 14 and the wedge-shaped knife 7' of a buttonhole cutting device. The suction device is composed of a suction tube 37 and connected to a negative pressure generator. When a looper thread is cut by a thread cutting device at the end of a sewing process, the looper thread end part 18 is sucked to the opening part 38 of the suction tube by sucking action formed by the suction tube 37. Together with that, the looper thread end part occupies a position to be completely covered by the corresponding welt of the following buttonhole to be sewn. Thus, by cutting off the looper thread end part, it is not required to clean the buttonhole later.
