Sheeting device for an inspection ditch, made up of two sheeting elements (10, 20) opposite each other and spacer means (30, 40) between the two sheeting elements. According to the invention, each of the two sheeting elements includes a central panel (11, 21) and two lateral panels (12, 13, 22, 23), each lateral panel being secured to the central panel and extending from the said central panel towards the opposite element, and the spacing means extending horizontally, respectively between the regions of free vertical edges of the lateral panels opposite.
