<p>PURPOSE:To simplify constitution and to increase surface temp. accuracy as well as to facilitate handling by inserting a heating element, such as nichrome wire, into a central shaft supporting a roll body, thereby constituting the central shaft itself as a heating element. CONSTITUTION:A central shaft 2 is constituted of a cylindrical body, such as steel pipe or stainless steel pipe. The heating element 3, such as nichrome wire, is inserted into the central shaft 2 and insulating powder 4 for electrical insulation, such as magnesia is packed therein to form the heating element having the central shaft 2 as its outside cylinder. The central shaft 2 is provided with journal parts 6 at both ends and a roll body 1 in the central part. A roll element 9 having projecting parts 7 on one side and recessed parts 8 on the other side is formed. The projecting parts 7 of the roll element 9 are fitted into the recessed parts 8 of the adjacent roll element 9. Plural points of pins 10 are fixed and connected and the roll elements 11, 12 on both sides are fixed by means of bolts 13 to the central shaft 2. The rolls which are simple in construction, are economical and have various lengths and diameters are constituted.</p> |
