<p>PURPOSE:To restrain unsteadiness at rectilinear running and insure a neutral position at control trouble in a device to steer rear wheels by means of a steering wheel through a bar body by additionally providing a means to give the preset force by an elastic member so as to hold the bar body in the neutral position. CONSTITUTION:When the shaft 5b of a steering mechanism 5 is for example moved left, the guide 11d of a fail safe mechanism 11 is moved left together with it. Simultaneously, the stepped part 11j of one movable piece 11f is pressed with a head part 11h to move left, and finally both movable pieces 11e, 11f are contacted with each other. Further, the stepped part 11i of the other movable piece 11e is contacted with a stopper 11b so as to regulate the maximum moving quantity of the left. Consequently, even if a control device not shown in the figure is troubled, the leftward moving quantity of the shaft 5b is not over the maximum moving quantity. When pressing force from the outward is removed, only repulsive force is left in a spring 11g, and hence the head part 11h of the guide 11d is pressed rightward through the stepped part 11j of the one side movable piece 11f.</p> |
