<p>PURPOSE: To lighten weight of a brake caliper by casting around a cylinder liner in one foot part of a cast calipers body that is constituted by connecting two foot part with a bridge portion while making manufacture of the brake caliper easier. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle brake has a brake caliper 14 that is kept to stride across outer annular pants of circular plates rotating with a shaft 10. Friction pads are mounted in the caliper 14 at two sides of the circular plates. In this case, the caliper 14, formed as a die cast body made of aluminum alloy and the likes, has a first foot part 20, a second foot part 22 spacedly extending with the first foot and a bridge portion 24 connecting the foot part 20, 22 in one body. A fluid cylinder cavity 18 is formed in the first foot part 20 facing towards the second foot part 22, and it lines with steel cylinder liner 30 formed in the caliper 14 and having a flange 36 and a groove 38 in its two end parts and is cast around the liner.</p> |
