Hood assembly for wheelchair - is extended or retracted by linkage mechanism which can be operated by chair occupant

The wheelchair is fitted with a hood which can be extended or retracted by the occupant of the wheelchair. The hood is supported on a system of interconnected pivoted links. The two links (c1, d1) are connected to each other at their lower ends by a pivot (p2) which is fitted with a handle. By pushing the handle upwards the links (c1, d1) swing away from each other and the link (d) is pushed along the slot in the link (c). The movement of the link (d) swings the link (b) outwards and extends the hood. Pushing the handle downwards causes the hood to be folded up and pressed against the chair backrest. USE/ADVANTAGE- Hood for a wheelchair can be extended or retracted by the chair occupant.
