The headbox has a distribution channel to carry the suspension across the width of the machine. This leads to stationary hydraulic turbulence generators with a series of feed tubes to a relaxation and expansion chamber. The feed is then narrowed to a gap to lay the required amt. of suspension on the wire. The hydraulic turbulence generator is at a pref. angle of 90 deg. to the floor of the relaxation chamber. ADVANTAGE - Adhering particles in the suspension are broken into separate fibres etc., to make a smoother fluid to lay on the wire, esp. on a wide machine, producing high quality paper without blemishes.
