The invention relates to a device for connecting an agricultural machine (2) to the tractor (1) drawing it and driving it by way of a power take-off shaft (10). It includes a compound transmission (8). This comprises two angular gears (15), (16) arranged one on top of the other, which by way of a bearing (21) can be swivelled towards one another about a first axis A-A. A retaining strap (9) and a bracket (36) supported on this by means of springs (42, 43) are assigned to the compound transmission (8). This bracket has a bearing journal (26) by means of which it is connected to a cross-piece (7) so that it can swivel about an axis C-C. The cross-piece (7) serves for fixing the machine (2) on the catch hook (4) of the bottom links (3) of the tractor (1). These permit a swivel movement about the axis B-B. By means of the bracket (36) an improved absorption of the force is obtained in the event of impacts.
