The drive for a vehicle consists of one or more drive engines (1), a drive shaft (12), a transmission with planet wheel sets which are controllable by position drives and couplings, and an output shaft (13). Two planet wheel sets with position drives and couplings are provided for the two rotational directions of the driven shaft, with position drives arranged at the side of each planet wheel set which consist of a position motor or pump (25, 26) and couplings (30). ADVANTAGE - Gear arrangement suitable for vehicles ranging from cars to omnibuses which is efficient in terms of energy usage and material consumption.
