A temperature-controllable roller 1 serves as a sealing tool, on the circumferential surface of which a plurality of plastics film webs 14, 15, 16 are sealed to one another under pressure and the application of heat. The plastics film webs run onto the circumferential surface of the roller 1 at equal or different distances from one another and are guided by means of pressure rollers 2, 3, ... 7. These pressure rollers lie under pressure against the circumferential surface of the roller 1. The plastics film webs pass through the contact areas between the pressure rollers and the roller 1. The plastics film webs are covered on one or both sides with sealing layers which are fused by the effect of heat so that a sealing of the laminated plastics film webs occurs on the circumferential surface of the roller 1. Between at least two superposed plastics film webs, no sealing layers are present so that the laminate can be separated into individual laminates at the sealing layer-free surfaces along a partial circumference of a separating roller (30).
