The arrangement is for cleaning the seat of a valve working in the cooling and lubricating oil circuit of a reciprocating piston engine. It has a valve housing (5), a valve plate (2), a valve spring (3) and a valve seat (4). The valve spring acts on the valve plate against the oil pressure. For the purpose of cleaning the valve seat the valve is opened independently of the control by a pin (6) movably arranged in the valve housing, one end of which (7) can be brought into contact with the valve plate and the other (8) is sealed to the outside. USE/ADVANTAGE - Cleaning valve seat in IC engine lubricating system. using arrangement which ensures a minimum lubricating oil pressure in all operating ranges.
