The side walls of the container are designed as plates (4,4') attached to the base (2) by articulated joints so that they can be folded outwards. The joints comprise protruding webs (13) provided on a lower edge of each wall plate (4) with thickened areas (14) at the free ends of the webs engaging through openings (15) in the base plate. Each engagement opening (15) is a slit having a first section (16) with a width corresponding to the thickened area and a second section (17) with a width corresponding to the thickness of the web. Detent elements (18) are provided at the transition area in the sections. USE/ADVANTAGE - Partic. for vegetables and house plants. The container can be easily returned to the supplier in the flat state where it can undergo washing before re-use.
