<p>A mechanism for elevating a cargo bed of a vehicle has a hydraulic cylinder attached at one end to the cargo bed and at the other end to a tram which rolls in a channel incorporated in the chassis section of the vehicle's frame. A first pair of linkages connected at one of their ends to the cargo bed are pivotally mounted to the chassis. The other ends of the first pair of linkages are connected to a second linkage which is in turn connected to the tram. The linkages augment the lifting force produced by the cylinder on the cargo bed.</p> |
