<p>A fuel injection pump, has a pressure valve (6) accommodated within a valve holder (7), which holder has a conically shaped region (II) at the transition from the diameter of an axial recess (16), housing a valve spring (15), to the diameter of an axial outlet passage (9), the region accommodating a similarly shaped spring support member (18). An axial bore (19) in the support member (18) has the same diameter as the axial passage (9). The support member (18) may take the form of a frustrum (Fig 3) and may have a radiussed rim. The conical shape of such features in a fuel injection device removes angularity which might otherwise lead to cracking under the high operating pressures of the device. <IMAGE></p> |
