A method of manufacturing a luminescent article comprising a supported or self-supporting phosphor-binder layer including a chemically cured binder, which method comprises the steps of (1) coating a dispersion of phosphor particles in a solution of uncured binder in a solvent or solvent mixture on a temporary or permanent support, (2) removing the solvent(s) by evaporation, and (3) curing said binder with the aid of moisture (H<6>O), wherein the binder is formed substantially from a moisture-hardening binder composition prepared by mixing the components (A) and (B) as defined in the description.
