: Flow meter and its use The invention concerns the use of a flow meter with a circular cylindrical housing that has an essentially even inside diameter over its full length, through which the medium to be measured flows, and a resistance body led in a sealing manner against the inside wall of the housing by means of the flow of the liquid medium preferably against the effect of a spring with progressive characteristic line, whereby the resistance body has a hollow cylinder forming an inner axially passable flow channel and its narrowest part is formed by the essentially circular cylindrical hole of a pin diaphragm, hold in an exchangeable manner in the hollow cylinder, with, compared to the narrowest cross section of the flow channel, considerably smaller free hole cross section which is unchanged during the axial motion of the resistance body in the housing, for which in each case a pin diaphragm is selected such that for increasing width of the viscosity range to be recorded - starting from a lower limit of about 1 cst. upward - of the liquid medium to measured, the ratio of diaphragm thickness to hole diameter increases, but remains about between 0.05 and 1.0, as well as a flow meter for such an application. |
