PURPOSE:To permit transfer printing on non-conductive portions by using a thermal head having at least two heat conductive paths of a heating element for a transfer paper to be used in thermal transfer printing. CONSTITUTION:Heat from heating elements 12a and 12b is transmitted to each transfer paper, where heat is conducted from two heat conductive paths in the elements 12a and 12b of a heater 12. When a given current is applied to the heater 12 and transfer printing is made by the thermal head, where transfer is made in the initial heating stage, heating value is increased in the most narrow portion in width among the heating elements 12a and 12b divided by a non-conductive portion 13 in each heater 12, and in the portion, optimum temperature for transfer is quickly reached, and transfer pattern is transferred in smallest dots. When heating time is increased, transfer pattern is expanded. |
