PURPOSE:To control K loss and to remove both SO2 and CO2 at the same time in treating SO2 and CO2 containing exhaust gas with liq. absorbent containing K2CO3 by performing an absorption process, a CO2 striping process, a K2SO4 separation process and an electrolysis process for giving KOH and sulfuric acid. CONSTITUTION:In treating SO2 and CO2 containing exhaust gas with liq. absorbent containing K2CO3, the SO2 and CO2 are removed from the exhaust gas by an absorbing process using an absorber 2 and the liq. absorbent drawn from the absorbing process is heated to strip the CO2 by a stripping process using a stripper 5. Further, solidified K2SO4 is separated from the liq. absorbent drawn from the stripping process by a separation process using a solid-liquid separator 8. And the K2SO4 obtained in the separation process is electrolyzed to give the KOH 13 and sulfuric acid 14 by an electrolysis process using an electolyzer 12. Water solution of KOH 13 obtained in the electrolysis process is reused in the absorption process to remove both the SO2 and CO2 from the exhaust gas at the same time. |
