Single-acting pneumatic cylinder, including a piston guided in a body exhibiting a rectangular bottom (15), wherefrom a peripheral wall leads extending towards a side which is closed by a piston (12) sliding against this wall. This piston exhibits a hollow side pointing towards the said bottom and delimits, together with the said wall of the body, a pressure chamber communicating with a connector (29) arranged laterally, placed at the said bottom, on a lateral surface of the cylinder. Viewed in section, the body (11) exhibits the appearance of an elongate hole with large parallel sides and with semicircular ends. At its extreme side (28), the one situated opposite the side (27) exhibiting the said connector (29), the cylinder body (11) has a second connector (31) communicating with the pressure chamber (18, 24). <IMAGE>
