PURPOSE: To obtain a gold-bearing preparation capable of being sintered at a specific temperature to produce ductile, highly porous coating films on metallic surfaces, wherein the porous coating films can well and permanently be bonded not only to masking ceramics but also to masking plastics. CONSTITUTION: This gold-bearing preparation comprises (A) 1-10wt.% of a pore-forming agent, (B) 90-99wt.% of a mixture comprising 50-95wt.% of gold powder and 5-50wt.% of an organic binder or a solvent, and, if necessary, (C) an additive comprising the powder of a metal and/or a ceramic. Therein, the component A comprises a powdery material which is rapidly decomposed or vaporized off at a sintering temperature without leaving residues, preferably a powdery plastic and/or wax which are rapidly decomposed or vaporized off at a temperature of 700-850 deg.C, especially the powdery material whose maximum particle diameter is 1mm, 50-99wt.% of whose particles have particle diameters of up to 350μm and 1-50wt.% of whose particles have particle diameters of 350-800μm. The gold-bearing preparation can be sintered at 700-1050 deg.C to form the coating film on the surface of a metal, especially the surface of a dental member.
