The device according to the invention involves a detection module comprising two quartz oscillators, one of which acts as a temperature sensor and the other makes it possible to construct a signal defining a counting period, an AND gate (8), one input of which is connected to the first oscillator and the other of which receives the said signal, a pulse counter (9) whose counting input is connected to the output of the AND gate (8) and a microcontroller (10) capable of reading the pulse counter (9) at the end of each counting period, converting the contents (N) of the counter (9) into a digital value representing the temperature, using a correspondence table, and storing this value in a memory (11) at an address corresponding with the time at which the measurement was carried out. This device has the advantage of having a high degree of autonomy and of not being subjected to drift. <IMAGE>
