PURPOSE:To autonomously correct the delay between terminals and to establish synchronization between media by changing the value of maximum delay used in calculating a delay difference within a transmission timing control part and a receiving timing control part. CONSTITUTION:A transmission timing control part 200 transmits a time stamp value positively corrected by means of the difference time between a maximum processing delay value and the processing delay of respective media within the media under communication to a cell construction storage parts 301 to 309. The storage parts 301 to 309 construct cells by means of encoded data and the supplied time stamp, stores the cell having a value below the time stamp value as it is, and when there is any cell having a value beyond the time stamp value in the stored cells each time the time stamp value transmitted by the control part 200 is updated, transmits such cell to a cell multiplexing part 400. A multiplexing cell is transmitted to an ATM line 40. A receiving timing control part 500 functions similarly to the control part 200 and changes the maximum delay value to the delay time value for an added medium. |
