The present invention relates to the treatment of water or more specifically the removal of nitrate anions and/or phosphates and/or any other undesirable anion from the water in order to improve the drinking quality or more generally the quality thereof, and to do this by means of a resin of the weak base anion exchange type working in the form of a free base, which involves in the scope of the invention prior acidification (1) of the input fluid (5) using an acid such as hydrochloric acid or carbonic acid, chosen such that the resin has a lesser affinity towards the anion of the acid than towards the anions to be withdrawn which allows selective deanionisation and, by the choice of regeneration (6) with potash or ammonia, the possibility of direct recycling of the regeneration effluents as liquid fertilizer. <IMAGE> |
