PURPOSE: To achieve good illumination for the shoulder region of a road by arranging first and second focal points of a curve drawn by a right-hand part of a reflector at a distance longer than first and second focal points of a curve drawn by a left-hand part of the reflector. CONSTITUTION: A reflector 10 is divided into a left-hand part 18 and a right- hand part 19, which smoothly continue from and to each other. In the horizontal profile, first and second focal points F1HR, F2HR of a curve 21 drawn by the right-hand part are arranged at an interval farther away from the apex than first and second focal points F1HL, F2HL of a curve 22 drawn by the left-hand part 18. By virtue of this structure, a large light flux part of a light source 11 reflected from the right-hand part is scattered leftward, and as a result, legally permitted maximum light intensity values are not exceeded in a light distribution characteristic, so that good illumination for the shoulder region of a road can be achieved. |
