PURPOSE:To ensure the operation of an air bag device and improve safety and reliability. CONSTITUTION:An impact sensor 53 is provided in a space 5 around a boss 30 between a boss plate 33 and a slip ring unit 46 of a steering wheel 11 proper. The impact sensor 53 is engaged with the boss 30 and is screw-fitted in the diameter contracted stepped part 30c by a screw 55. The impact sensor 53 is connected to an air bag device 21 which is provided in the upper section of a boss section 14. A lead wire 58 which connects the impact sensor air bag device 21 can be shortened. The mounting work inspection become easy. Impact in case of collision of automobile can be transmitted to the impact sensor 53 securely. Space in the steering wheel 11 proper can be used effectively. The impact sensor is not exposed even when an air bag unit A is removed. Handling at the time of inspection becomes easy, and it is possible to prevent erroneous operation. |
