PURPOSE:To recognize a situation around a current position without increasing data amount by making correspondence between map data and stored aerial photograph data and by displaying current position on an aerial photograph screen of a display based on current position data. CONSTITUTION:A system controller 5 calculates current position data based on a program stored in a ROM 8 with azimuth data, angle speed data, travel distance data and GPS position measurement data input via an interface 6. If the GPS measurement data is highly accurate in this case, the GPS measurement data is used as the current position data without correction, while if the GPS data is not highly accurate, the GPS measurement data corrected by using the azimuth, angle speed and travel distance data, etc., is obtained or current position data is obtained from the azimuth, angle speed and travel distance data, etc., without using the GPS measurement data. Then the controller displays map display unit data corresponding to the current position data. |
