PURPOSE:To multiply or maintain cells without damaging properties of cells and to obtain a useful biosynthetic compound by putting a culture solution and cells in the inside of a hollow yarn membrane and introducing a culture solution and a gas into the hollow yarn under a specific condition. CONSTITUTION:Cells are packed into the inside a hollow yarn membrane D into which a liberated cell floating solution is poured from an upper opening part 1 of a hollow yarn membrane module, a culture solution is dripped from the opening part 1 and the hollow yarn membrane part is wetted. Exchange of O2, CO2, etc., is carried out from an opening 2 for change in gas and a gas in the culture solution is changed on the hollow yarn membrane.
