PURPOSE:To enable the optimum setting of operation characteristics by fitting an air bag sensor in the vicinity of a lower and/or rear side of highly rigid car body member at the central part in the direction of car width in the upper section of car body in the vicinity of the front end section of car body. CONSTITUTION:An air bag device has air bag sensors 4, 4 which are arranged in the vicinity of front end of front frames 3 on the right and left, an air bag sensor 6 which is arranged in the upper section at the central part in the direction of car width, and an air bag sensor 8 which is arranged below an instrument panel 7. In particular, the air bag sensor 6 is mounted in the upper section between fan cowlings 27 on the right and left of a short nose vehicle (c) via a fixing plate 2B. Consequently, it is possible to mount the air bag sensor on the highly rigid member which consists of a shroud upper 5, a radiator 24, a first cross member 27, and a center stay 22 and set to proper operation characteristics so that collision does not affect occupants adversely and the air bag does not operate in the case of light collision. |
