CONNECTOR HAVING PRESS-FIT TYPE PROBE

PURPOSE: To provide a connector provided with a press fit type contact protecting damage of an insulator when a contact is press fitted. CONSTITUTION: This connector is provided with a casing 20; and an insulator 22a mounted in the inside of the casing 20 and consisting of an insulating material capable of elastic deformation; and plural holdings hole 24 formed in the insulator 22a; and plural contacts 18 inserted into each of these holding holes 24 with press fit force and arranged in the casing 20 while mutually insulated. The contacts 18 are provided with locking protrusions 38 which engage with wall surfaces of holding holes 24 formed in the insulator 22a while elastically deforming the surfaces to thereby lock the contacts 18. The protrusions 38 are disposed at different positions in a longitudinal direction to neighboring contacts 18, and alternately arranged in different positions as a whole.
