PURPOSE:To use a component video signal and a composite video signal in common, to effectively control each signal being a component of a component video signal and to simplify the descrambler. CONSTITUTION:When a Y signal, a U signal and a V signal are inputted respectively to input terminals 1, 2, 3 an identification circuit 6 identifying the type of the signal detects the signal to be a component signal and the Y signal inputted to the input terminal 1 enters a ciphering circuit 7. The U signal and the V signal are directly respectively inputted to ciphering circuits 8, 9. The ciphering circuits 7, 8, 9 cipher respectively the Y, U and V signals according to the control content of a control circuit 10 depending on a cryptographic key. |
