PURPOSE:To provide a synchronous motor driver having simple circuitry. CONSTITUTION:In a rotating field type m-phase synchronous motor comprising a permanent magnet rotor and a wound stator, a semiconductor element (bilateral three terminal thyristor) 10 which can control conduction and non- conduction bilaterally is connected between (m) stator windings 1, 2 and a power supply 12. Each semiconductor element is controlled to shift the phase of current flowing through each of (m) stator windings by an electrical angle of pi/m and when the frequency is increased gradually from 0 to a predetermined level, the rotor can rotate at a rotational speed corresponding to that frequency. |
