Process using a drying and heating drum arranged over a mixing tower is claimed, the novelty being that the throughput of pure mineral materials contains 100% of the drum capacity or opt., according to amt. of mineral, from 100% asphalt granules. Supplementing the above process comprises cooling and scrubbing the flue gas. Pref., the cooler through the heating water for the minerals in the closed system is led through a gas heat exchanger, and then to a spray cooler for further cooling and scrubbing of the flue gases. The water heated to 80-90 deg. C is added via a water/water-heat exchanger to the cooled heating water and then led through the gas-water heat exchanger. The flue gases are alkalised by spraying with hydrated lime before being de-dusted.
