The elastic shock-load damper is for use between components moving together and apart. A damping member (1) fixed to one component protrudes towards the other. The member is contained in a guide (2) with a tappet (7) movable in the direction of the other component, and whose end face (8a) works against the damping member. The guide is pot shaped, enclosing and clear of the member. They are concentric, the guide being screwed to a machine component. The tappet works in a bore in the guide, its head (8) being of larger diameter than the bore. USE/ADVANTAGE - For machines such as wheeled loaders. Long life, and avoids hard shocks for the machine driver.
