A dry, solid prod., stable on storage at room temp. and reconstitutable with saliva, contg. less than 0.5 wt.% of lactulose, w.r.t. dry prod., and based on milk or milk prods., carbohydrates and opt. other additives, contains at least 10 power 8/g of lactic acid bacteria. The milk components include all fat-contg. milk concentrates, e.g. conc. skimmed or whole milk, and/or prods. enriched with soya protein, e.g. soya milk with milk-like foods. The carbohydrates include sugar, starch, starch prods. including starch breakdown prods., comminuted grains or cereals, and/or vegetables; the sugars are esp. glucose, saccharose, fructose, lactose and/or sugar replacements.
