In a process for adsorptive purification of vegetable and/or mineral oils and fats in a multi-stage counterflow, fresh absorbent, pref. fullers earth and pre-purified oil are put in a first stage with a mixer. 70-95% of the absorbate is removed in a sepn. stage, solid passing to a second mixer with fresh oil. A filter removes absorbate from the oil from the second contact stage and remaining absorbate from the first contact stage. ADVANTAGE - Increased cost effectivness.
