Producing a loop element made from fibre laminate material, esp. a thin walled, wide prepreg loop, includes winding a matrix impregnated reinforcing fibre under tension onto a winding tool. The winding tension of the reinforcing fibre is reduced from a maximum value at the start of the winding process. The loop element is pref. removed from the winding tool before hardening. The loop element thickness is pref. calibrated and the belt section is pref. deformed after winding is complete. ADVANTAGE - The process ensures that faulty fibre orientation does not occur.
