The connector is provided for coupling a flexible cable ribbon (11) to a circuit board (10). Circuit board tracks (14) are brought into parallel alignment to form a connection region. Both the cable ribbon and the PCB tracks in the connection region end in contact points. The spacing between tracks on the circuit board and on the ribbon cable is the same in the connection region. The ribbon cable contact points are made to overlap the contact points on the PCB and fixed together by a clamping element (13) which bridges the connection region. The clamping element is secured to the board by screws (18). Mechanical damage in the region is avoided by using an elastic spacer element underneath the clamping element. ADVANTAGE - Simple to use, low transfer resistance.
